Arbatel Time

Time is the secret to understanding The Arbatel, and you need to read what it says, not what you want it to say. In my first post I made the point that there are no instructions for rituals, or invocations or evocations. The reason is that the Olympic Spirits are already available and ready to work with you; all you need know is the time…

Olympic spirits as Timelords

The fundamental power of the Olympic Spirits is rulership over time. Time is the great destroyer, for if you do not maintain anything it will run to disorder and chaos over time.

The Arbatel tells us that time is the key in several ways. Planetary hours are key to working with the Olympic Spirits. The sequence of the planetary hours is the Chaldean Order:

  • 3 – Saturn
  • 4 – Jupiter
  • 5 – Mars
  • 6 – Sun
  • 7 – Venus
  • 8 – Mercury
  • 9 – Moon

I have included the number associated with each planet. You will notice that the number-planet association is also found in the Sephiroth on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. In fact, this is where the medieval authors of the Tree of Life got the idea from.

There is an intimate relationship between the planetary hours and the planets ruling the days of the week. The first planetary hour of the day is at sunrise, and it is the best time to work the Olympic spirit of the day:

  • Sunday – Sun
  • Monday – Moon
  • Tuesday – Mars
  • Wednesday – Mercury
  • Thursday – Jupiter
  • Venus – Friday
  • Saturday – Saturn

How Magicians get time wrong

What magicians and students do not understand about the movement from 10 Malkuth up to 1 Kether is that when the Golden Dawn was formed, the evolutionary theories of Charles Darwin were all the rage, so travelling backwards up the tree is supposed to be evolutionary. This purpose suits the Secret Societies – it is how the aspirants are controlled as they struggle against the flow up the Tree.

However, as I said, the Olympics Spirits rule time, and the cycle or flow of time is from Saturn, Jupiter and so on to the Moon, when we start again at Saturn.

Some magicians have published their experiences of ritual invocation of the Olympic Spirits starting with the Moon, because that is what the Tree does!

Planetary Hours work with the Olympic Spirits

The easy way to work with the Olympic spirits is to use a planetary hours app on your mobile phone – no rituals, no ritual workspace, no magical weapons, no coercion. Just set up the app – there are excellent free ones for Android. I use one on my pc too. Allow the app to access the GPS on your phone, and it will automatically give you accurate hour changes where-ever you are. Just have the awareness as the hour changes and soon you will get insights.

Now I will let you into a secret – the Olympic Spirits are available 24/7, but to start with, go by the hours, and they will respond.
