Aces and Princesses
The Aces and Princesses form a fourth group in addition to the Major, Minor Arcana and Court cards. The Aces have ambiguous roles in the Minor Arcana as they represent Spirit rather than the element. The Princesses are technically not part of the Court cards.
On page 177 of The Book of Thoth, Aleister Crowley clarifies these cards. The Aces form quadrants around the Pole Star, while the Princesses rule quadrants of the Earth.
